Cubs Vs. Pirates Preview: Chicago Tries To Stop Longest Losing Streak Since '97

Things aren't going very well for the Chicago Cubs at the moment. Not only are they tied with the Minnesota Twins for the worst record in Major League Baseball (15-30), they are also currently suffering through a 10-game losing streak. The 10-game skid is the longest since the organization lost 14 in a row to begin the 1997 season, and as Al Yellon of Bleed Cubbie Blue points out, that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The North Siders are off to their fifth-worst start in franchise history, and on Friday they managed recorded 10 hits and failed to score a single run, which marks just just the 10th time in almost 100 years where the team has recorded 10 or more hits and gone scoreless over a nine-inning game.

On Saturday, Chicago will try to break the spell by sending Paul Maholm (4-3, 4.73 ERA) to the mound in opposition to Pirates starter Kevin Correia (1-5, 4.50 ERA). Here is the TV schedule and game time for Saturday:

Game date/time: Saturday, May 26, 6:15 p.m. CT

Location: PNC Park, Pittsburgh, PA

TV: FOX (click here for regional coverage map)
