The Chicago Cubs have received the official word from the MLB regarding their makeup game after the rains canceled their May 1 game against the Cincinnati Reds. Cubs beat writer Carrie Muskat is reporting the game will be added to the second-to-last season series against the Reds and will take the form of a doubleheader:

The MLB changed the rules regarding doubleheaders in 2012, allowing teams to carry 26 players for the duration of the game. This allows the team to call up extra pitching help to keep their rotations in tact and healthy.
The Reds are currently in first place in the NL Central, while the Cubs are sit 10 games back in last place.
