Cubs Vs. Astros Score Update: Chicago And Houston Tied 1-1 After 5 Innings

The Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros are tied 1-1 after five innings at Minute Maid Park on Tuesday. The Cubs are hoping to avoid their eighth straight loss.

Houston got to new Cubs starter Travis Wood early. Second baseman Jose Altuve blasted a leadoff homer off Wood to start the game and give Houston a 1-0 lead. The North Siders would tie the game in the fourth inning when left fielder Alfonso Soriano took J.A. Haap deep for a solo home run, his fourth of the year. That's where we stand entering the sixth inning.

Both starters have been excellent. Wood has allowed two hits and one earned run while walking one and striking out three through five innings. Haap has surrendered five hits while striking out five.
