MLB Draft 2012: Fergie Jenkins To Represent Cubs In Rule 4 Draft

The Chicago Cubs will have Hall of Fame pitcher Fergie Jenkins present at the 2012 MLB Draft, according to the Cubs official homepage, and he will accompany area scout John Ceprini as the Theo Esptein leadership group conducts their first amateur draft.

Jenkins pitched 19 seasons in the MLB with a 3.34 ERA. The long-time Chicago Cubs member joined the MLB Hall of Fame in 1991.

In the 2011 MLB Draft, the Cubs selected SS Javier Baez, 1B Daniel Vogelbach and CF Zeke DeVoss with their first frist, second and third round selections. In 2012, the team will three first round picks -- the No. 6, No. 43 and No. 56 picks. The 2012 draft will mark the first time the Cubs have had three or more first-round picks since 2002, when they had four first rounders.
