Cubs Vs. Astros Preview: Chicago Turns To Travis Wood To Stop Losing Streak

Travis Wood will take the mound in Houston for the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday as the team hopes to avoid losing its eighth straight game. The Astros handed the Cubs an 8-3 loss in the series opener on Monday and will send starter J.A. Happ to the bump tonight. Houston is 4-2 in its last six games.

Wood made his Cubs debut on May 6, allowing three earned runs in six innings during a win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The 25-year won't be facing a particularly intimidating lineup come Tuesday night, but it's not like he's working with a great offense behind him, either. Wood's margin for error would appear relatively small.

Happ, a 6-6 Northwestern album and native of Peru, Illinois, enters 3-3 with a 4.96 and 1.52 WHIP this season. He pitched six innings of shutout baseball in his last start, a win against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Game 2 Date & Time: Tuesday, May 22, 7:05 p.m. CT

Location: Minute Maid Park; Houston, Texas

TV: CSN-Chicago
