Cubs Transactions: Chicago Calls Up Reliever Blake Parker

The miserable bullpen of the Chicago Cubs again reared its ugly head last night by surrendering six runs to the Philadelphia Phillies in the ninth inning in a 9-2 Chicago loss at Wrigley. The Cubs are understandably exploring options to fix the bullpen, and today they made a minor move by calling up reliever Blake Parker from Triple-A Iowa.

Parker will likely replace either Casey Coleman or Scott Maine on the big league roster, as each player still has minor league options left. Rafael Dolis has been dealing with a back injury, so a trip to the DL for him could also happen.
