Bryan LaHair Injury: Cubs 1st Baseman's Status Up In The Air

Chicago Cubs first baseman Bryan LaHair sat out the team's last four Cactus League games with back trouble, and now the Cubs are just waiting to see if he'll be ready for opening day. Cubs manager Dale Sveum says LaHair is making progress:

"He’s getting better every day, so we’ll just see with the treatment," Sveum said before Tuesday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers. "I don’t think it’s a DL thing or anything like that, because he’s got pretty good range of motion as far as rotation and all that. It’s just the shooting pain.

It's still possible at this point that LaHair will have to miss Thursday's opener, but Sveum expects LaHair to be available some time over the weekend, so it does not appear as though it will be a lengthy setback.
