Cardinals Vs. Cubs Final Score: Chicago Loses 5-1

The Chicago Cubs fell short of a sweep, losing 5-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals at Wrigley Field on Wednesday afternoon. The Cubs' offense went flat against Cardinals starter Lance Lynn, scoring just one run in the game, which began late to a rain delay.

Over eight innings, Lynn spread out six hits and a walk, letting the Cubs get just a single run. Outside of that mistake, a solo home run by first baseman Bryan LaHair in the fourth inning that tied the game up 1-1 at that point, Lynn was pretty dominant.

Chris Volstad started for the Cubs, giving up four runs over six innings, and Shawn Camp gave up the fifth run in his inning of work. David Freese hit his fourth homer of the season for St. Louis as part of a 3 RBI performance, and Lynn improves to 4-0 this season.
