The Chicago Cubs will have two first round picks in the 2012 MLB Rule 4 Draft, the No. 6, No. 43, and No. 56 slots, according to Baseball America.
In the 2011 amateur draft, the Cubs selected SS Javier Baez and 1B Daniel Voglebach with their first two picks -- a first and second round pick. Chicago will have two three round picks in the 2012 MLB draft on account of losing free agents 3B Aramis Ramirez and 1B Carlos Pena to free agency -- the most picks the team has had since 2002 when they selected four players in the first and first supplemental rounds.
Of the four players selected in the first round in 2002, none of them reached the major leagues.
