It wasn't expected to be a winning season on the North Side this year, but the Chicago Cubs' early performance in 2012 is still proving to leave all involved with a feeling of satisfaction. The Cubs will enter their Thursday afternoon contest against the Milwaukee Brewers at 1-5, with losses to the NL Central rival Brewers at Wrigley in the first three games of the series. On Thursday, Chicago will hope starting pitcher Matt Garza can finally stop the bleeding.
Garza pitched fairly well in first start of the year, going six innings and allowing two earned runs in a loss to the Washington Nationals.
Things won't be easy against Milwaukee starter Zack Greinke. The former Cy Young Award winner earned a victory in his first start of the year against the St. Louis Cardinals. going seven innings and allowing just four hits and zero earned runs.
