Cubs Vs. Royals Final Score: Chicago Cruises To 6-4 Win

More: Samardija dominant against Royals

Chicago Cubs pitcher Jeff Samardzija made his first Spring Training start of 2012 today against the Kansas City Royals during a 6-4 Cubs win. Samardzija looked excellent in his three innings of work, allowing only one hit (a single) over three scoreless innings. Samardzija ended the day with three strikeouts.

The Cubs' offense also continued to mash, pounding Kansas City pitching for 15 hits in the victory. Chicago entered the game hitting .364 as a team, and Bryan LaHair, Reed Johnson, and Starlin Castro weren't about to hit the team average slip. Each player netted two hits in the Chicago victory.

Chris Volstad will take the mount for the Cubs on Thursday against the Seattle Mariners.
