The Chicago Cubs (0-1) hit the field again on Monday, sending RHP Ryan Dempster to the mound to start. Dempster had a rough ERA in 2011 (4.80), but advanced statistics suggest he had another solid season (3.91 FIP, 3.79 SIERA). Because it is still early in the season, Dempster will likely only pitch an inning or two.
Here's a look at today's starting lineup:
CF Tony Campana
2B Darwin Barney
SS Starlin Castro
1B Bryan LaHair
RF Jeff Baker
LF Reed Johnson
C Steve Clevenger
DH Blake DeWitt
3B Josh Vitters
As with Dempster, the starting lineup will likely only stay in for a few at bats as the team looks to get playing time for its prospects.
