Cubs Spring Training 2012: Jay Jackson To Start Vs. Arizona

Jay Jackson is one of the top starting pitching prospects in the Chicago Cubs' system, and though he has pitched well this spring, he will get his first turn as a starting pitcher today vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. Jackson is likely to return to AAA for the beginning of the season, but he's been impressive in Arizona this month, giving up only eight hits and one earned run over nine innings while striking out three and walking only one.

But Jackson has yet to face a line up stacked with mostly major league hitters, and that's what he'll see when he takes the mound vs. Arizona. Here is the Cubs' starting line up for this half of today's split-squad action, with first pitch coming at 3:05 p.m. CT:

  1. David DeJesus, RF
  2. Marlon Byrd, CF
  3. Blake DeWitt, 2B
  4. Ian Stewart, 3B
  5. Steve Clevenger, C
  6. Dave Sappelt, LF
  7. Blake Lalli, 1B
  8. Alfredo Amezaga, SS
  9. Jay Jackson, SP
