Cubs Vs. Rockies Final Score: Geovany Soto Leads Cubs Past Colorado

Home runs were aplenty on Friday afternoon in Scottsdale, Arizona for a Spring Training game between the Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies. Led by catcher Geovany Soto, Chicago out-slugged the Rockies 10-8. Soto hit a pair of home runs and drove in five runs in the Chicago victory.

Soto hit a two-run homer off Colorado starter Tyler Chatwood in the second inning and the fourth inning. Chatwood was roughed up by the Chicago offense, giving up nine runs, seven earned, and nine hits oer 4 1/3 innings.

Colorado outfielder Carlos Gonzalez was the star for the Rockies. Gonzalez drove-in five runs in the loss.

Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija allowed seven runs on 10 hits in four innings. Before today, Samardzija had held opponents to three runs in 10 innings.
