Cubs Vs. Mariners Final Score: Chicago's Offense Comes Alive In 12-7 Win

Travis Wood had a rough start for the Cubs, giving up seven runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- in just two innings of work, but Seattle's pitching was no better, and Chicago eventually prevailed 12-7 on Monday afternoon.

While Wood was struggling, Chicago's offense was covering for him as best it could. The Cubs scored seven runs in the top of the first inning but Seattle had the game tied by the end of the third inning. But that's all the M's would get, as Chicago's relievers settled things down.

The Cubs scored the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth, added three in the eighth, and one more in the ninth.
