Third baseman Josh Vitters will likely get his shot at the big leagues someday soon, but it won't be on Opening Day 2012. The Cubs optioned the young right-handed hitter today to Triple-A Iowa. The demotion of Vitters highlighted a group of other moves made by Chicago:

Vitters was the third overall selection in the 2007 MLB Draft. Ian Stewart, the former Colorado Rockies third baseman, will start at the position for the Cubs on Opening Day.
