Cubs Spring Training 2012: David DeJesus Will Lead Off And Bryan LaHair Will Hit 4th, According To Dale Sveum

On Thursday, new Chicago Cubs manager Dale Sveum offered a glimpse at how he's going to arrange his lineup in 2012.

Sveum was adamant on Thursday that Bryan LaHair is his first baseman and that there is not battle for that job. "It’s [LaHair’s] job; it’s not his job to lose," Sveum said.

LaHair played in just 20 games for the Cubs in 2011 and has played in a total of 65 games in the majors. He spent the majority of 2011 in AAA, where he hit an impressive .331/.405/.664 with 38 home runs. It looks like Sveum is going to give him time to see how those numbers translate to the major leagues.

David DeJesus hit .240/.323/.376 for Oakland in 2011.
