The Chicago Cubs have been receiving praise for their talent in the minor leagues, and the latest to join in has been MinorLeagueBall.com. The website included four Cubs prospects in their list of the Top 50 for 2013 for hitters.
Leading the Cubs prospects is Javier Baez who is ranked fifth on the list. He is followed by Albert Amora at 35th, Jorge Soler at 36th and Dan Vogelbach at 50th.
The only prospects that were ranked higher than Baez were Jurickson Profar, Oscar Tavares, Wil Meyers and Xander Bogaerts.
As Tony Andracki of CSN Chicago writes, Vogelbach may be the most surprising addition to the list of top Cubs prospects, as he hasn't received much attention elsewhere. He hit .322 across Rookie ball and Short-season A while hitting 21 home runs in 245 at-bats, making him an emerging power threat.
The Cubs did not have any pitchers on the site's list of top-50 throwers.
