This week is the final full week of spring training; both the Cubs and White Sox are finished with split-squad games and have nine preseason games remaining.
For the Cubs, they'll have to decide whether to eat the $6 million remaining on Carlos Silva's contract; he's been outperformed by Andrew Cashner for the rotation and several others for a bullpen slot. The White Sox are concerned about Jake Peavy, who has tendinitis in his right rotator cuff. This is unrelated to the experimental lat surgery he had last summer, but it may prevent him from being ready for Opening Day.
There will be quite a few more telecasts of both Cubs and White Sox games as we get closer to the season, and the two teams meet in a sold-out game at HoHoKam Park in Mesa on Thursday in a game that will be nationally televised. Here are the schedules and broadcast information for both teams this week. All games are at 3:05 p.m. CDT unless otherwise noted.
