Dale Sveum Set To Be Introduced As Chicago Cubs Manager Friday Morning

The Chicago Cubs have called a press conference at Wrigley Field on Friday at 9 a.m. CST to introduce their 52nd manager in team history, Dale Sveum. On Thursday, Sveum accepted the Cubs' three-year offer to manage the team, with an additional option for 2015.

Sveum, who will turn 48 in less than a week, got a small taste of managing an MLB team when he took over as the interim manager for Milwaukee Brewers in September of 2008. Under his management, the Brewers rallied to go 7-5 and clinch an NL Wild Card berth, an experience that Sveum spoke about back on November 7th during the interview process:

"Once I got to manage that year, those 12 games and the four games in the playoffs, it was somewhere where I felt right at home and very comfortable doing."

The news conference will be streamed live on MLB.com at 9 a.m. CST.
