The field for the Cubs manager job has been set, according to MLB.com's Carrie Muskat:
No more candidates for
#Cubs job. Its down to Mackanin, Maddux, Sveum, Alomar, Hale and Francona
Cubs officials had indicated previously that they weren't likely to expand their search beyond Mackanin, Maddux, Sveum and Alomar.
Muskat added that the Cubs are expected to interview Dale Sveum for a second time on Wednesday. An earlier report from the Sun-Times indicated that meeting would happen on Tuesday. The Red Sox are also very interested in Sveum, who will meet with Boston officials again on Wednesday. Both Boston and Chicago have interviewed several of the same candidates, and now both may have Sveum at the top of their lists.
