Theo Epstein Press Conference: A Focus On 'Building A Solid Foundation For Sustained Success'

The Chicago Cubs finally made it official as team owner Tom Ricketts formally introduced Theo Epstein as the new President of Baseball Operations during Tuesday’s Wrigley Field press conference. Following along on mlb.com’s live stream, Epstein provided some interesting information.

After declaring “it truly feels great to be a Cub today” in his opening statement, Epstein focused on his approach to building a winner to Chicago’s north side. On how he will build towards success, he offered the following thought: “Over time we will build a solid foundation for sustained success that starts with the commitment to scouting and player development.”

No official decision has been made on incumbent manager Mike Quade at this point, with Epstein citing phone conversations with Quade, adding “we have plans to meet in person sometime next week.”
