Bulls Free Agency 2012: PG Kirk Hinrich Officially Signs For 2-years, $8 Million

The Chicago Bulls officially announced the signing of PG Kirk Hinrich to a two-year deal for roughly $8 million deal which had been publicly reported weeks earlier, but not officially announced until Monday. According to Hinrich, the opportunity to return to the Bulls was too good to pass up:

"I’m very excited to be back in Chicago and to wear a Bulls uniform once again," said Hinrich. "I look forward to getting back out on the court as a Bull, and contributing to the team in any way I can."

The 31-year-old point guard played his previous two seasons with the Washington Wizards and the Atlanta Hawks, mostly as a starter. With the Bulls, Hinrich figures to fill in a key bench role for the team while PG Derrick Rose recovers from his ACL tear suffered early in the 2012 NBA Playoffs.
