NBA Free Agency 2012: Bulls To Sign Nazr Mohammed

The Chicago Bulls are reportedly on the verge of signing veteran center and Chicago native Nazr Mohammed, reports Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago. The terms of the deal have not yet been revealed, but the Bulls were informed late Saturday night that Mohammed had chosen to Chicago over the Brooklyn Nets, at which point the Bulls front office decided to go ahead with the signing.

What this means for Omer Asik remains to be seen, but Friedell believes that it signals the end of his time in Chicago as the Bulls look to stay under the NBA's luxury tax line. Mohammed, who averaged three points and three rebounds a game for the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, is certainly no Asik, but head coach Tom Thibodeau will have to make due.
