VIDEO: Derrick Rose Checks In With Chicago Bulls Fans

Derrick Rose is gone but not forgotten. The fallen superstar's memory hangs over everything happening with the Chicago Bulls right now, with the point guard's absence no doubt playing a large part into the team's decision to go a, let's say, fiscally conservative route this offseason. Question: if D. Rose was still alive and kicking, would the Bulls really have let go of Kyle Korver, C.J. Watson and Ronnie Brewer? In a sense, the historically frugal Chicago ownership almost caught a break with Rose's torn ACL, at least from a financial sense. Management certainly has an easier time rejecting a hefty luxury tax bill without Rose in the fold. There is little fan pressure on the organization to spend right now.

On Friday, Rose posted a video checking in with Bulls fans during his rehabilitation efforts. Rose says he's thankful for the outpouring of well wishes he's received and that he has no doubt he'll soon return to form. What else do you expect him to say? Check out what D. Rose (R.I.P.) has to say in his special video message, after the jump...
