Bulls Free Agency 2012: Chicago Is Front-Runner To Sign Darko Milicic

The Chicago Bulls are among the front-runners to acquire the services of free agent center Darko Milicic, as Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports. Spears also lists the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers as teams that have emerged in pursuit of the center.

Last week, Milicic was waived via the amnesty clause by the Minnesota Timberwolves, removing the remaining two years and $10 million owed to him off their salary cap. Having passed through waivers unclaimed, Milicic has since become an unrestricted free agent, allowing him to negotiate with all 30 NBA teams.

For the Bulls, Milicic could potentially provide some added depth in the front court. If the team opts not to match the offer sheet that the Houston Rockets have extended to restricted free agent Omer Asik, Milicic is one possibility to take over as Joakim Noah's back-up.
