Taj Gibson Injury: Bulls PF Hopes To Play Despite Ankle Sprain

Despite suffering a sprained ankle against the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 5, Chicago Bulls power forward Taj Gibson hopes to play in Game 6 as his team tries to once again stave off elimination. The Bulls are trailing 3-2 to the Sixers in the seven-game series after winning on Tuesday, but they still need two more victories to make it to the second round.

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Gibson assured them that he'd make his absolute best effort to help the Bulls out when they face Philadelphia later this week. Teddy Greenstein of the Chicago Tribune has the quotes:

I'll do everything in my power to play. I have all summer to lay back if we lose, so I'm going to lay it on the line.

Over five postseason games, Gibson has averaged 8.6 PPG, 6.8 RPG and 1.6 BPG in 21.8 MPG. He's been especially active on defense over the past two games, accumulating eight blocks and 19 rebounds. Hopefully the ankle injury won't slow down Gibson on Thursday when the Bulls try to once again extend their season.
