Bulls Sign Mike James For Rest Of Season As Emergency Point Guard

The Chicago Bulls announced on Thursday that point guard Mike James has been signed to a contract for the remainder of the season. The terms of the contract were not disclosed, but James will be available for Thursday night's contest against the Boston Celtics on TNT. The 36-year old veteran signed several 10-day contracts with the Bulls this season and averaged 5.4 points and 3.1 assists per game over eight contests during that time.

The Bulls have been thin at guard due to injuries to Derrick Rose (groin) and C.J. Watson (ankle) this season, and Watson has hit a slump in his last five games, so James will likely help limit minute loads for those two lead guards down the stretch by soaking up spare minutes with John Lucas III.
