After losing two straight games to the Washington Wizards and the Miami Heat, the Chicago Bulls are slowly losing their stranglehold on the No. 1 seed in Eastern Conference. If the Bulls win out— or if the Heat don't win out— it would be hard to imagine Chicago losing the top seed, but a loss from here on out opens the door for the Heat to win the rest of their remaining games and capture the No. 1 seed.
The biggest obstacle in the Bulls' way comes on Saturday night, when they'll host Dirk Nowitzki and the defending NBA campion Dallas Mavericks, who themselves are battling for playoff position. While the Bulls are hoping to hold off the Heat, the Mavs are desperately trying to stay above the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns, who currently occupy the two final seeds in the Western Conference.
The two teams have yet to face each other this season, with the NBA instead deciding to push their lone match up as close to the playoffs as possible. There has been no word yet on whether Derrick Rose will play in the game.
Game time/date: Saturday, April 21, 7:00 CT
