After taking down the Miami Heat without Derrick Rose on Wednesday night, the Chicago Bulls got a quick reminder that things don't usually come easy without your best player on the floor. They played a Portland Trail Blazers team that shipped out their top role players and fired their coach at the NBA Trade Deadline, but they somehow found a way to let the broken down Blazers stick around long enough to pull of a 100-89 upset. It's not time to panic or anything -- the Bulls still haven't lost consecutive regular season games since Feb. 7 -- but the Rose-less Bulls are a lot closer to what they showed on Friday night than they are to the team that shocked the Heat on Wednesday. It's about perspective.
Rose is still nursing a sore groin and will again be a game-time decision, while the Sixers are planning to welcome back starting center Spencer Hawes into the lineup. The last time these two teams met (March 4), Rose closed the deal and helped the Bulls leave Philly with a 96-91 win in hand. Just to help get the taste of the Blazers loss out of your mouth, let's revisit his sweet game-winner in that contest:
Here are the details for tonight's rematch:
Game date/time: Saturday, March 17, 7:00 p.m. CST
Location: United Center, Chicago, IL
TV: WGN
