The Chicago Bulls are staying in contention as Derrick Rose continues to recover from knee surgery. The Bulls are 4-3, but find themselves in the top 10 in NBA power rankings from around the web. Chicago is getting it done the way they always have, with strong defense.
In Seth Rosenthal's power rankings at SB Nation, the Bulls are ranked No. 7. Rosenthal notes that the Bulls remain among the best in the league on defense and are finding a way to get it done on offense.
At ESPN, Marc Stein also has Chicago at No. 7. Stein notes that after beating Minnesota on Sat., Nov 10 87-80, the Bulls improved to 20-12 under Tom Thibodeau when they score under 90 points. The rest of the NBA has a .167 winning percentage when scoring under 90 over that same span.
John Schuhmann of NBA.com also has the Bulls at No. 7 as well, as does Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk. Only Matt Moore of CBS Sports has the Bulls lower, placing them at No. 8 in his power rankings.
