Bulls' Joakim Noah hints ankle may never be fully healthy

Joakim Noah's ankle is healthy right now, but he thinks that rehab will be something he'll have to deal with for the rest of his career

Eric Hartline-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Chicago Bulls forward Joakim Noah says his ankle is 100% healthy heading into training camp, but that between his history with ankle injuries and the nature of the injuries, it's something he'll probably have to deal with for the rest of his career.

Noah hurt his ankle during the stretch run of the 2011 season, and missed playing for France in the London Olympics. He said that his ankle didn't start to feel like it was at 100% again until the past month. Due to the way that basketball is played, with so much running and jumping, the possibility of Noah reinjuring his ankle will always be there.

The Bulls could use a break from injury issues, so they're hoping Noah will hold up this year while Derrick Rose rehabs from the knee injury that robbed them of a deep playoff run last year.

The Bulls open the season on Oct. 31st at the United Center vs. Sacramento.
