Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook won't play vs. Bulls

OKC Thunder superstars Durant and Westbrook will not be playing in a preseason game at the United Center Tuesday night

Jerry Lai-US PRESSWIRE

Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are in Chicago Tuesday night and will be attendance at the United Center as the Oklahoma City Thunder play a tune-up game with the Bulls. The two Thunder stars won't be playing, though, as reported by K.C. Johnson on Twitter, from a report by The Oklahoman.

Neither Durant nor Westbrook are injured. Oklahoma City coach Scott Brooks merely wants to "give some looks to other guys" on Tuesday. That means fans attending Tuesday night's game will see plenty of DeAndre Liggins and former Marquette star Lazar Hayward at the wing, along with Baylor product Perry Jones III. At the point, Eric Maynor will receive a very rare start - the VCU alum has only started once before in his Thunder career, in 2010, also in a preseason game. The Thunder complete their preseason schedule Wednesday night.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau sounds like he will play his team fairly close to its regular season rotation Tuesday night.
