Derrick Rose discusses road to recovery

David Banks-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Derrick Rose has learned patience during his recovery from a torn ACL. Unfortunately, he and Bulls fans will have to continue to be patient, since Rose is still several months away from returning.

The Bulls are sticking with the eight-to-12-month timeline they gave when the injury occurred in April. He has not experienced any set backs.

Still, Rose told the media on Monday how excited he is to return.

"I can't wait to get back on the court to see what I'm going to do...I'm going to be a better player. My legs have never been this strong before. My upper body has never been this strong before. My core has never been this strong before. I'm going to see where it takes me."

The Bulls have made it clear that Rose will not be providing daily injury updates. Coach Tom Thibodeau wants the focus to be on the team. For now, all he knows is that "At some point [Rose] will be rejoining the team and we'll take our shot at the end."
