Cavaliers vs Bulls recap: Chicago falls to Cleveland late, 86-83

The Bulls rallied late, but were unable to overcome a sluggish first half, falling to the Cavaliers, 86-83.

Nate Robinson missed a layup with eight seconds remaining in the game and the Chicago Bulls lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers, 86-83, in Champaign, Ill.

Down by 10 with 1:58 left to play, the Bulls went on an 8-0 run and had a chance to tie or take the lead before Robinson missed the layup. Robinson shot 1-of-11 from the field and had four turnovers in 16 minutes off the bench for the Bulls.

Kirk Hinrich led the Bulls with 14 points, eight assists, four rebounds and two blocks on 6-of-12 shooting from the field in 27 minutes. Starters Richard Hamilton and Carlos Boozer had 10 points each. Taj Gibson had 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two blocks in just under 19 minutes off the bench.

Cavaliers rookie Dion Waiters led all scorers with 18 points in the game .

With the loss, the Bulls fell to 1-1 in the pre-season and will travel to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves on Saturday.
