NBA Power Rankings 2012: Bulls Hold Strong In Top Three

Despite getting blown out last week by the Atlanta Hawks, the Chicago Bulls are rated as a top three team in the NBA.

In his first 2012 NBA Power Rankings, SB Nation's Tom Ziller slots the Chicago Bulls as the No. 3 overall team in the NBA, behind the MIami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Bulls are coming off a decent week, with an impressive road victory over Orlando Magic and a thrashing of the Detroit Pistons balanced out by a home-and-home split with the Atlanta Hawks. Here's Ziller on the Bulls:

The biggest surprise of the early part of the season for the Bulls is that the team's offense might be outplaying its defense. That happened roughly zero times in 2010-11.

After playing five games last week, the Bulls will play five more games this week, though with only one tough opponent on the slate. They will start the week off with a back-to-back-to-back against the Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves and Washington Wizards before skipping Thursday and playing a Friday/Saturday back-to-back vs. the Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors.
