Derrick Rose spoke with the media after the Chicago Bulls' loss on Monday, discussing his reactions and thoughts about being named to the Team USA 18-man list for the 2012 Summer Olympics, video courtesy of Comcast SportsNet:
Rose has been struggling with a toe injury in recent days, but is having another strong season with the Bulls. He currently leads the Bulls with 20.8 points per game and 8.5 assists per 36 minutes.
Team USA earned two gold medals in the 2008 Olympics as both the men's and women's team won their respective tournaments. On the roster for the men's team that year was current Chicago Bulls power forward Calros Boozer, who also has a bronze medal from the 2004 Olympics.
Though Rose is one of the members of the 18-man list, he still may not make the final 12-man roster:
"It's an honor to be on that list. If it was up to me I would definitely be playing in it, but Coach K and all the coach staff has... to pick the players. Hopefully you'll see may playing for that team, but I'll definitely be training hard in the offseason."
The Bulls will be back in action on Tuesday night, taking on the Phoenix Suns.
