NBA Playoff Picture: Chicago Bulls Likely To Face Indiana Pacers In First Round

The NBA playoff picture is coming into sharper focus now, as last night’s action solidified the Eastern Conference field. We know who’s in and who’s out; the issue now is sorting who plays whom when the postseason begins next weekend. The Chicago Bulls still have the inside track to the no. 1 seed in the East, with a three-game lead on the Boston Celtics and a 3.5 game lead on the Miami Heat. Whoever wins the top seed draws the Indiana Pacers in the first round, as the Pacers clinched the final playoff spot Wednesday night.

Indiana, which currently stands at 36-43, will be an easy matchup for whomever it faces, but especially the Bulls. Chicago took three of the four games between the teams this season. The Pacers’ lone win came in overtime on Mar. 18.

The Bulls can eliminate the Celtics from contending for the East’s top seed if they defeat them tonight (7 PM, TNT). Please visit this StoryStream for complete Bulls/Celtics coverage, and visit BlogABull for a more in-depth look at the Bulls.
