Bulls' Derrick Rose Finishes Fourth In Award Voting

Save your outrage. This isn't the NBA MVP vote. It's the NBA MIP vote -- for Most Improved Player.

The award went to the Timberwolves' Kevin Love, who led the league in rebounding, averaging 15.2 rebounds (as well as 20.2 points) per game.

Love easily outdistanced LaMarcus Aldridge of the Trail Blazers, who finished second. Dorell White of the Heat finished third, and Derrick Rose was fourth. That's still an impressive showing for D-Rose, considering that before this year he was already one of the top players in the league. The Bulls' Luol Deng received one second-place vote.

Rose is widely expected to be named the NBA's Most Valuable Player when that award voting is announced. In the meantime, Rose and the Bulls have a more important task -- finishing off the Pacers in round one of the playoffs and move on in their quest to win the NBA championship this season.
