Save your outrage. This isn't the NBA MVP vote. It's the NBA MIP vote -- for Most Improved Player.
↵↵The award went to the Timberwolves' Kevin Love, who led the league in rebounding, averaging 15.2 rebounds (as well as 20.2 points) per game.
↵↵Love easily outdistanced LaMarcus Aldridge of the Trail Blazers, who finished second. Dorell White of the Heat finished third, and Derrick Rose was fourth. That's still an impressive showing for D-Rose, considering that before this year he was already one of the top players in the league. The Bulls' Luol Deng received one second-place vote.
↵↵Rose is widely expected to be named the NBA's Most Valuable Player when that award voting is announced. In the meantime, Rose and the Bulls have a more important task -- finishing off the Pacers in round one of the playoffs and move on in their quest to win the NBA championship this season.
