NBA Free Agency 2011: Free Agent Period Set To Begin Dec. 9

Free agency begins on Dec. 9.

The owners and players have come to terms, so the focus finally can shift to the start of the 2011-12 NBA season. The free agent period is scheduled to begin on Friday, Dec. 9, and considering the abbreviated nature of this offseason, rumors are likely to heat up in a hurry.

Over at SBNation.com, Tom Ziller has compiled a full list of restricted and unrestricted free agents. The Chicago Bulls don't have any restricted free agents but do have three unrestricted free agents: forward Brian Scalabrine, guard/forward Rasual Butler and forward Kurt Thomas. Scalabrine and Butler played sparingly for Chicago last season, but Thomas started 37 games and averaged over 22 minutes per game.
