The Bulls really didn’t deserve to win Saturday night’s game. After a close first quarter which ended with a two-point Bulls lead, they ran out to a 12-point lead at halftime… and then coughed it up in the third quarter, when Houston outscored them 35-25 to make it a two-point game going into the fourth.
The Rockets took the lead in the fourth quarter and were leading by three with 10.3 seconds left when the Bulls took the ball down the floor. Everyone knew it was Derrick Rose’s shot to take, and after losing the dribble, he handed the ball off to Joakim Noah, who gave it back to Rose at the top of the three-point line; Rose drained the three right as the buzzer sounded to make it 109-109.
Rose wound up with another 30-point game and made it a double-double with 11 assists. Joakim Noah posted another double-double and got his rebounding game back with 13 points and 12 boards, and most importantly, Carlos Boozer had his first impact game as a Bull, with 25 points and nine rebounds.
And since we can’t get enough of that buzzer-beater, here it is:
The Bulls will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.
