Analysis: Bulls, Rose Try Comeback Again Against Knicks, But Fail

Last Saturday night, the Bulls dug themselves a deep hole against the Pistons at home, but made a remarkable fourth-quarter comeback, including a 19-2 run at one point, to defeat Detroit by 10.

They tried the same theory last night, also at the United Center, against the Knicks. This time the gambit failed, losing 120-112. The Knicks used little-known Toney Douglas (30 points) and Danilo Gallinari (24 points) to build up an 18-point lead at halftime — the Bulls gave up an alarming total of 70 points in the first half.

Thanks to the efforts of Derrick Rose, who had a career-high 14 assists, and three-pointers from Luol Deng and Kyle Korver in the fourth quarter, the Bulls closed to within eight points midway through that quarter, but could get no closer.

Neverthless, this monster jam from Rose is making highlight reels all over the country — so SB Nation Chicago presents it here for your viewing pleasure.
