NBA Power Rankings, Week 3: Bulls Rising, But Not Far Enough

The mothership at SBNation.com has released its NBA Power Rankings after three weeks of the NBA season -- and the Bulls rank only fourth in the Eastern Conference.

What? Seriously, we're asking... whaaaaa? The Bulls had a 3-0 week, blew out a Golden State Warriors team that was off to a hot start by 30 points at home (and it wasn't that close), and had Derrick Rose named NBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

This exciting week in which Rose has established himself as a real force in the conference moved them up by... exactly one place, from fifth to fourth, swapping places with the Atlanta Hawks, who went 1-3 on the week. More troubling is seeing them still behind the Miami Heat, who lost two in a row for the first time this season, after only nine games -- a certain TV broadcaster (cough Jeff Van Gundy cough) said they wouldn't do that all year -- and basically spent the week whining (too much playing time for poor pampered LeBron James). The mothership says:

Furthermore, people are skill skeptical as to whether three players can really make a team.

Bingo. Meanwhile, all they can say about the Bulls is "if" Joakim Noah gets hurt, it "would be traumatic." To which we say, "Duh", and hope the Bulls can win at least three games on their tough seven-game circus trip.
