K.C. Johnson and Aggrey Sam, two Bulls beat writers for the Chicago Tribune and CSN, respectively, report that Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said seven-year veteran Keith Bogans will start at shooting guard when Chicago opens its season this Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
↵Bogans has started 226 of his 504 career games, including 49 starts in 79 appearances for the San Antonio Spurs last season. Regarded as an above-average defender, Bogans owns career averages of 7.1 points per game and 35.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc. He started each of the Bulls' eight games this preseason and shot 51.7 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range.
The other contenders for the job were fellow free-agent additions Ronnie Brewer and Kyle Korver.
