Blackhawks Vs. Coyotes: Shaw Excited For Return, Hopes To Bring 'Gritty Play'

The dynamic rookie forward, C Andrew Shaw, returns on Monday night in Game 6 of the Chicago Blackhawks-Phoenix Coyotes playoff series. He was suspended three games after hitting G Mike Shaw in Game 2 of the opening playoff series. According to Shaw, the suspension will add caution to his approach, but not spoil his intensity:

"Obviously I’m going to play the same way, maybe stay out of it after the whistles. I have to play between the whistles," Shaw said. "But still have that gritty play."

Team captain C Jonathan Toews echoed Shaw's sentiments, saying the team looked forward to having Shaw's drive back on the ice:

"We want him to keep playing hard, and obviously as a team we have to be smart," Jonathan Toews said. "But the physical play and the energy he brings, don’t want him to temper that at all."

Through his 37 games with the team, Shaw led the Blackhawks with a 16.2 shooting percentage (goals divided by shots on goal) and compiled 23 points with 12 goals.
