The Chicago Blackhawks continue to wait on the NHL's ruling on the three-game suspension for C Andrew Shaw. The 20-year-old rookie hit Phoenix Coyotes G Mike Smith in Sunday night's game, drawing a penalty and an ejection at the time. Shaw maintains that the hit was accidental, but the league will ultimately make the final decision on whether or not he can play in Tuesday night's Game 3.
Shaw participated in the morning skate, according to The Chicago Tribune, but still does not have any indication on whether or not the league will suspend him:
"It's a long process," Shaw said Tuesday. "They don't want to make the wrong decision. They take their time with it and they'll let me know when they know."
The young center played in 37 games for the Blackhawks in the 2011-12 season and scored 12 goals on 74 shots to lead the team in shot percentage (16.2%).
