Jonathan Toews Injury Update: Blackhawks Center Has 'Encouraging' Workout

The Chicago Blackhawks (36-24-7, 79 pts) got some good news on Monday when C Jonathan Toews successfully completed his off-ice workout, according to Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago. Toews has been out since late February with concussion-like symptoms, though the team has listed him with simply an "upper-body injury."

Toews leads the team with 29 goals this season, but has been limited to just 59 games because of various injuries. The Blackhawks captain was previously ruled out of the remainder of the team's current road trip, making this Friday's game against the New York Rangers the soonest he would be available to return.

The Blackhawks play next on Tuesday night, squaring off against the St. Louis Blues Tuesday.
