Blues Vs. Blackhawks Score Update: Chicago, St. Louis Tied Up, 1-1, After First Period

The Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues are knotted up in a 1-1 tie after the first period of Thursday night's game at the United Center. The Blackhawks are hoping to end a two-game slide against one of the NHL's best teams.

Chicago got out to the lead initially roughly midway through the period, but it was a shockingly short-lived advantage. Just over ten minutes into the period, Bryan Bickell scored his ninth goal of the season to give the Blackhawks a 1-0 lead. But just nine seconds later, Alexander Steen scored his 14th goal of the season to tie the game back up.

Both teams had a single power play advantage in the period, but neither capitalized. The Blackhawks had a 14-8 advantage in shots on goal, getting one past Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak.
