Blackhawks Vs. Capitals: Chicago Can Build On Two Game Winning Streak

Barring a historic collapse, the Chicago Blackhawks will finish out the season's final ten games battling for playoff position while secure in the knowledge that they will be one of the Western Conference's top eight teams. The Washington Capitals, on the other hand, are fighting to hang on to the East's eighth seed, and every regular season game for them from here on out will have the intensity of a playoff game.

The Caps have been treading water in the month of March, compiling a 4-4 record which most recently includes a loss to the Winnipeg Jets, the team that is now two points behind them in the standings. The Blackhawks, meanwhile, are 5-2 in March and are currently enjoying a two-game win streak over the St. Louis Blues and Dallas Stars. Chicago has been able to stay hot despite the absence of captain Jonathan Toews, who has been out with a concussion and isn't expected back for Sunday's game.

Game date/time: Sunday, March 18, 2012, 6 p.m. CT

Location: United Center, Chicago, Ill.

TV: NBC Sports Network
