Blues Vs. Blackhawks Final Score: Chicago Wins 4-3 After Shootout

After benching their starting goaltender and completing an impressive comeback in regulation, the Chicago Blackhawks beat the St. Louis Blues in a shootout to finish off a stunning 4-3 victory on Tuesday night. Chicago trailed for most of the game, but never let down in front of a raucous home crowd.

Trailing 3-2 going into the final period, the Blackhawks desperately needed to get going on the power play to find some goals. While Chicago failed to capitalize on five of their six power play opportunities throughout the game, including three in the first two periods, it got the score when needed.

Roughly eight minutes into the third period, holding the man advantage, the Blackhawks' Brent Seabrook scored his sixth goal of the season to tie the game back up. Neither team would find the goal over the remainder of regulation and the overtime period.

But on Chicago's first attempt of the shootout, Patrick Kane executed a backhand goal that would ultimately prove to be the game-winner. Corey Crawford was huge for the Blackhawks, going a perfect 18-for-18 on save opportunities after replacing the struggling Ray Emery following the first period.
